I hope things are going good for you
sorry that I only write so little, but I don't think you'd want to know what's going on in my life right now, so I won't bother you

Actually I’m happy for your messages being so long because a) a lot of people don’t really say anything in the messages/comments they write and b) I know that a lot of boys aren’t into writing at all, so I’m really glad I have the pleasure to read what you write to me and well thanks for saying I have cool things to talk about, BUT you saying you don’t have cool things to talk about is not what I think so aaargh, just continue the way it is, alright? Then I’ll be happy *laughs*

Aw thanks for asking. The orientation class was really a good thing, because a) we got to learn some of the professors (the one who did most of the class being the nicest) and yeah another woman who’s responsible for the organization of ‘stuff’ in the department of psychology of this university I’m studying at, told us how we sign up for tests and workshops and all this things we have to do. And yeah… we got an overview of how our studies are going to be like… it was interesting. Our timetable is not as full as I thought it would be, B U T one unpleasant thing bugs me a lot: we have classes in (something I believe you call) statistics (it’s the word in German, I don’t know if it’s the right translation but I think you get what I mean) and today I had my first class in this and yeah the teacher is nice, but he already told us 4 books that he advices us to read and we should revise the basics of ‘statistics’ we had at school (in math, one year ago. And I can tell you math classes sucked at my school and well… I totally blew the test I had back then in math) and the test system at university sucks as well and the teacher told us you need to answer 60%-80% of the questions in the test correctly to pass it… and… well… I hope I manage somehow because I really do NOT want to have to take any test at university twice, because that would mean I’d have to study longer and well I don’t want that. But let’s see, maybe I’m just panicking now because everything is so new. The good thing is we have a ‘statistics workshop’ where we go through what we learned in our classes with another teacher who helps us understand what the teacher tried to teach us and yeah I hope that will be enough for me to grasp what I should understand.

Exactly I went to the orientation class for my major psychology but couldn’t go to the orientation for my minor ‘business administration’.
(This was so ridiculous anyways, the thing with the ‘minor’ subject. Normally at the university I study at every student has two subject, one which is ‘worth’ 120 credit points (the major) and one that is ‘worth’ 60 credit points (because you need to have 180 credit points to get a Bachelor title- I believe it’s the same system in the U.S.) BUT my major (psychology) is a subject which is worth 165 credit points, meaning I don’t have to take a ‘minor’ subject right away. But no one told us this when we applied for the place at university (the funny thing was you could only apply with ‘business economics’ as a minor, a lot of people (including me) thought this meant we could only take ‘business economics’ as a minor, but we were wrong, it was just that the other subject you could choose to take as a minor where no subjects you had to apply for (confused?*lol* well thank you, we all were as well^^) sooo… when this was told us (me&my fellow psychology students) a lot wanted to get out of ‘business economics’ but it was told us from the university-students-office that is was no longer possible… this mess was a real pain in the ***. Well I chose to stay with business administration. But I had the problem that I couldn’t go to the orientation class, because I had my statistics class at that time, so (having known that for some time) I wrote an email to the guy responsible for timetable issues& responsible for passing information to students about the subject ‘business administration’ asking what classes I had to take this term. The funny fellow told me to take part in a class that doesn’t exist. Luckily enough (haha like you said) we have the great internet. So I found out what I wanted to know all by myself (*is proud of herself* *looool*)
So now I almost got my timetable ready, I just need to find out which ‘statistics workshop’ I can attend. (classes are for all 148 students, but in the workshops we are divided into smaller groups, so that the teacher can really help us and explain stuff, we had to apply for the places in at least 3 different seminars and well I hope I’ll get into one that fits nicely in my timetable)

So yeah again you were right, after this short period of orientation classes the real psychology studies start for me. (‘statistics’ being a far too big part of it if you ask me)

Yeah well I mean if I were in a class with 120 boys I think I’d be happy, too XD
Yeah one of this seminars or workshops is about how to deal with other people, how to learn and yeah learning social soft skills – or whatever they might call it.

Yeah it’s good to be able to talk to someone, although I have to say it’s a lot different here at university from school. Well I’ll see how things work out. I guess you get to know those people better with whom you spend your workshops/seminars.

Did I say I wasn’t shy? Gosh I was stupid. I didn’t used to be shy at school but whoa… with this (almost) 150 completely foreign people… whoa I was shy at first… I mean I don’t have trouble talking to anyone, but it’s just like… hm… I dunno it’s so new this situation and I feel … weird

Bon Jovi have come out with a new song? Really? I had no clue *laughs* but yeah well… they’re not what they used to be.

Yeah I feel bad for homeless people who can’t do anything against it, but actually this cannot happen in Germany, because you get a lot of benefits (I believe is the word) from the state. So some people choose not to work because they earn less money than what they receive from the state when they are unemployed. It’s so weird.

GPA system… hm… I think it’s different here. We need to get those 180 credit points, for example, I’ll have this stupid statistics test and let’s say I pass (I HAVE TO) and then I get 3 credit points, but at the same time I get a grade (let’s see I answered 80% of all the questions correctly- then I’ll get a “3” I think, which would be a “C”) so… the average you get in the end is the average of all the grades you manage to achieve during yourstudies.

oO wow it’s that bad with parking spaces? Well… in downtown Munich it’s the same, that’s why people choose to go by public transportations
(if you ever try to walk through your whole campus in one day you gotta tell me if you managed *laughs* I have no doubt you will^^)

Uh yeah it costs very much. If I’d tell you I think you’d probably fall off your chair… hm… well my ‘pass’ which I have to buy to use the public transportations (busses, trains, subways) from where I live into downtown Munich costs about 54 Euros a month, which is I believe about 80-100 Dollars (I’m not sure about the exchange rate atm) it’s unbelievably expensive in Munich, and I can’t even go on all the trains, actually just on the kind of train we call S-Bahn, so it’s really ridiculous

Subways are kinda ‘cool’ I guess if you’ve never seen them before, but I can’t stand them. They’re way too hot, and too full and everything. They only good things is that they are fast and it takes 10 minutes max. to wait for one that brings you to your destination.
It takes 40 minutes one way, I think that’s not much, so I’m happy with it.

Aw, thanks that’s sweet (That you say my English is almost perfect) well I have to keep it in ‘good shape’ because soon I’ll need it for university as well.

Yeah I’m not addicted to internet either, but it’s just more comfortable and yeah you said all the other advantaged I believe.

Ahhhh! You’re making me nervous *laughs* almost Christmas break? Studies haven’t started for me yet and you are already half through with your semester? Okay well the systems are really different
Okay well good good luck with studying. I hope everything goes well for you.

Oh nooo a speech? I hate doing speeches, I die each time I have to give one. That’s the worst thing there is. Well GOOD GOOD luck!!! *crosses fingers* you’ll do great I know you will

Well I really really wrote a lot this time, probably a lot of boring stuff, sorry about that buuut well I don’t know when I’ll have time to write that much again so I’ll take that as an excuse ;-)

Have a great week, hope it goes brilliantly for you
    (good luck with your speeches!!)

    And have an awesome weekend.

    Take care

*lol* sry about your comments being so long? Then I’d have to say the same thing, but I’m not sorry about that =P
Haha yeah well I hope your prof will tell us tomorrow which classes we gotta take and bring some clearance into the mess of confusion *laughs* we’ll see, today I had my first orientation – class, it wasn’t anything specific about psychology but it was cool to see the people I’m gonna study with (148 students-really not much compared to 1500 law students, about 15 of them boys, one of which seemed fairly happy to be able to look at so many girls at once, well… *laughs*)
And yeah I hope I can tell what’s awaiting me tomorrow.
Yeah for days of classes would be cool. The seminars are… well I think (don’t know yet really) … an opportunity to find out about things yourself in interaction with other students and I dunno to practice things and stuff… that’s just my guess.
Yeah I know what you mean, don’t overdo it in the beginning… yeah I see how it will be like. I’m glad I already found two people I like (that were the only two people I talked two and we sat down next to each other and decided to stick together in all this confusion haha *lol*) nah I don’t know I had a bad day, usually I’m not really shy and talk to more people but I really slept badly last night and I could hardly think today.
Well Bon Jovi used to be a great rockband and they used to tour a lot… well in my opinion they have lost their touch during the last years, but oh well…
You think a homeless person is bored? I wouldn’t be bored if I were homeless, I’d be worried all the time*laughs* but you’re right. Being bored sucks, but that’s over for me now anyways
I will for sure do my best in university to be able to have a good job one day, so yeah.
*laughs* yeah well if you take out all the stuff that isn’t boring in your life it’s pretty normal that just the boring bits stay behind^^
Hey thanks for showing me your campus it looks really cool. I like that everything is one place. Plus some of the buildings of which I looked at the pictures seem to be really modern, seems to be nice.
How long does it take you to talk across the whole campus? Did u ever try that?^^
Actually I found out I don’t have to walk from the one building to the other because the subway station is right in front of one of the buildings and the other one is next to the huge university building. This will be cool in winter when it’s snowing or raining because then I’d hate to walk, otherwise I wouldn’t mind.
So yeah that’s when I take the subway
Here you have a picture of our old subways in Munich
    http://www.trampicturebook.de/tram/germany/muenchen/pics_ubahn/2004-03-02-19-X400.jpg
this is of a new one
    http://www.deutsches-museum.de/fileadmin/Content/Haupthaus/Ausstellungen/Themenpfade/EnergieCO2/Bilder/U-Bahn_H1_600.jpg
they look different everywhere in Germany.
Yeah subways are for frequent stops and shorter distances and it’s mainly in the inner part of the city, on the outside&on the outskirts you have trains and long-distance trains
I’m really happy that it takes me 40 minutes all in all to get from my home to university, I know a lot of people who need more than an hour to get to their school/work/job.
Okay, thank you^^ as long as you understand what I’m trying to say I guess my English can’t be that bad ;-) but sometimes I’m tired and can’t think of the right words, sry for that.
*laughs* ‘sweet me off my feet’ yeeeah that’s exactly what I need *laughs* thanks for trying to cheer me up & giving me hope. Thank you for being there.
Okay sry I didn’t get the thing about coffee and your growth and that you are already 6’3”
Yeah it is a lot so luckily there’s the internet so we can still communicate over the sea^^
Thank you, it means a lot to me that you say that.
But again we’ve been talking about me waaaay too much.
How are your studies going? How’s everything for you? Stressful or a bit more relaxed at the moment?
    Take care as well
    ttys

    hey
No need to apologize, I take long with answering your comments as well (they are ten times longer than the average comments I get) and in future it’ll probably take even longer *sighs*
I tried to make my university-timetable today (you gotta find out by yourself which courses you have to visit etc) and well I hope I got it all wrong because if not I’ll have ‘classes’ from Monday – Thursdays (which wouldn’t be too bad) PLUS seminars (8 to 10 hours a day) from Friday to Sunday. I really hope this seminar will only be once not EVERY weekend otherwise I’ll probably die along the way… I don’t even know where to fit in my ‘minor’ subject ya know? *sighs* well enough whining
I hope your week is going good and you did well on all the tests you had to take.
-Yeah my friend did see Nickelback in Munich but I’m not sure if she just saw them with Bon Jovi or on their own… hmm
Sorry if I skip some of the things you wrote but I think none of us will be able to follow the conversation otherwise – but yeah just so you know I appreciate the time and effort you always put in the comments you write to me =)
-ah well sometimes I wish my life was boring… but well I guess you’re right it would drive me crazy. Would you call your life boring? I guess/hope not XD
    - I think you have an advantage with the university buildings being all centered around one spot. Sometimes I will have to rush to another building in 30 minutes so it’ll be stupid. But let’s see how it will work out, maybe it won’t be as bad as I fear atm.
    - I think it’s funny you’ve never seen a subway before *laughs* and yeah the s-bahn is the regional train we also have trains which we call trains (the german word for train obviously*lol*) but they drive (??) greater distances (jeez sry I’m tired my English sux right now, sry about that)
    - thank you for saying that - that one day I’ll meet the right guy for me and stuff… I don’t know if it will happen until now … well… I hate to think about it because it makes me cry again and I’m so sick of this. You know maybe something is wrong with myself not with all the guys I meet/have met before. I know all my friends say he is a jerk if he has just given up on me and blah but friends say that because they want to console you.
I don’t want to bother you with this. Thank you for your support and that you listen.
Don’t apologize if it takes you time to write back, everyone has their own life and duties which come first I totally understand that (and you do when I say I need time to write back so why shouldn’t I?)
You know what bugs me most? That we can’t just meet for a coffee or something to talk because you seem like a nice person to spend time with. But yeah that’s life I guess
    Anyways
    Take care marc
